Board of Directors

Nathan Luckey
Chair

Nathan joined the KCOM Board as Chair in October 2019. He is a Managing Director in Macquarie Infrastructure and Real Assets (MIRA), and leads MIRA’s Digital Infrastructure team in Europe. Nathan holds a number of non-executive directorship roles for companies within MIRA’s investment portfolio. Nathan is a qualified Mechanical Engineer, with expertise across the telecommunications, media, transportation and utilities sectors.

Dale Raneberg
Chief Executive Officer

Dale joined the KCOM Board in October 2019 and was appointed as KCOM's Chief Executive Officer in November 2019. Dale has more than 20 years’ experience in technology and telecommunications development, improvement, and transformation, gained across Europe, Australia and the Asia Pacific region. He has worked for A.T. Kearney and Occam Associates in Sweden and held senior roles at News Corp in Australia and Eir in Ireland. Prior to joining KCOM Dale was Executive Director at Virgin Media in the UK and Ireland.

Richard Greenleaf

Non-Executive Director

Richard joined the KCOM Board as a Non-Executive Director in October 2019. He is a Managing Director in the Macquarie Infrastructure and Real Assets division of Macquarie Group Limited and acts as Head of Asset Performance for the wider European portfolio.

Richard received his Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Nottingham University, UK.

John Fitzgerald
Non-Executive Director

John joined the KCOM Board as a Non-Executive Director in October 2019. He is a senior advisor to MIRA. Over half of John’s 30-year career in the global ports infrastructure and services sector has been spent on the Humber, where he established and led the largest and most successful port complex in the UK as Director of Associated British Ports (ABP) Humber Ports. During his tenure in this role, and as a senior member of the ABP Board, John was instrumental in securing major inward investments and establishing the region as a major UK hub for renewable energy. John also has significant regional business and community leadership experience gained while serving as Chairman of CBI Yorkshire and the Humber and as a Board member of Humber LEP.

Jaap Postma
Non-Executive Director

Jaap joined the KCOM board as a Non-Executive Director in January 2020.
Jaap brings with him a wealth of experience including more than twenty years working in the telecoms, digital and media sector, latterly as the CEO of Danish TV, broadband and telephony group Nuuday and as a member of the TDC Executive Committee, also in Denmark.
Prior to this, Jaap fulfilled a number of roles at Dutch telecoms company KPN including EVP Consumer Market Division, VP Carrier Services and Wholesale and General Manager Network Operations.
Jaap graduated in economics from Rijksuniversiteit Groningen in 1998.

Chief Financial Officer

Alex joined KCOM in 2014 and was appointed Chief Financial Officer in November 2019.

Alex has held a number of senior roles within KCOM’s finance team. Alex is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, having trained and qualified with PwC.

 

Sean Royce

Managing Director

Consumer and Regional Business

Sean joined KCOM in 1989.  A qualified chartered accountant, he has held a number of senior roles at KCOM, including Managing Director of Technology, Service & Operations. He now leads our Hull and East Yorkshire business.

Sean is chairman of the charity Tigers Trust, vice chair of the East Yorkshire branch of the Institute of Directors and a director at Hull’s Ron Dearing University Technical College. He helped establish Hull’s Centre for Digital Innovation (C4DI), where he is also a director.

Managing Director

Business

Iain Shearman joined KCOM in 2000. He has led the National Network Services business at KCOM since its inception in 2017. He founded and developed the channel business. Since then, Iain has held a number of senior sales, product management and operations-related roles at KCOM with a focus on the development of network and related application solutions and markets.

Tim Shaw

Chief Technology Officer

Tim joined KCOM on 11 June 2019. He has extensive experience in leading network and IT-related transformation and delivering the technology strategies for large organisations across a range of different customer segments.  He has held a number of senior roles across BT and was VP of Engineering at Loot Financial Services.

Tim is responsible for our network and IT capabilities. 

Sue Murdoch

Group HR Director

Sue joined KCOM in 2013 and has over 20 years’ experience in HR, gained most recently as the HR lead for our Consumer and Regional Business segment and our Technology function and previously in the financial and professional services sectors. Sue is responsible for all aspects of our people strategy, including organisation design, employee engagement, learning and development and reward and recognition.  

Sally Jones
Matthew Pearson
Interim Head of Legal and Risk

Matthew joined KCOM in 1998. He heads up the legal and risk teams at KCOM and is a qualified solicitor.

Prior to joining KCOM, Matthew worked as corporate lawyer at Eversheds.
